For a long time Pompano Beach was just a place a lot of folks went through if you were going from Boca to Fort Lauderdale. Pompano Beach is seeing a revival in recent years and that is attracting new construction and new businesses. It started with the beach area getting a facelift and Citiplace Mall being remodeled. Now as you travel along Federal Highway, and elsewhere, you will see a lot has changed.
Whole Foods moved in and opened up in 2015 on the site of the former KMart. Sports Authority moved in next door a short time later.
A brewery opened up next door to Flanigans on Atlantic Blvd. 26 Degree Brewery is located in the former Beals building on Atlantic Blvd. Conveniently located across the street from my office.
LA Fitness opened a new location at 1000 N Federal Highway in Early 2016. It's huge and a great place to work out.
Two new noteworthy restaurants opened in Pompano Beach in 2015. The Foundry is a located on Atlantic Blvd next to Houston's. The food is great and the service is outstanding. I recommend you give it a try. The Rusty Hook Tavern is located on Riverside Dr and overlooks the intracoastal waterway opposite Houston's.
The fishing pier will have a new restaurant and retail complex with a parking garage. Construction for that began in 2015 and is now completed.
There are several new home projects under construction in Pompano Beach. Orchid Grove is a townhouse project by DR Horton on Cypress Rd with prices in the upper $200s. That project is nearing completion and is nearly sold out.
Koi is a unique complex under construction on Atlantic Blvd west of Federal Highway. It is a combination of townhouses and loft style units on a canal. It features a marina with boat slips for the residents. Prices start in the mid $400s.
14th and Ocean is a townhouse complex at the 14th St Causeway and A1A. They are 4 bedroom unit priced in the $600s.
Sabbia Beach is a luxury highrise building that hasn't begun construction yet, but more than half the units are sold. It is on A1A just south of the 14th St Causeway. Prices for Sabbia Beach start in the $900's.
