I have read a lot of books on real estate and real estate investing. Even in the books that I didn't think were worth mentioning I usually find one or two nuggets of information that proved to be useful. To save you some time here is my recommended read list for both beginner and seasoned investors.
1. The Millionaire Real Estate Investor by Gary Keller
The title is a bit cheesy but this a very well written book by Gary Keller. He is one of the founding partners of Keller Williams Realty, one of the largest real estate brokers in the country. He has written several other books such as The Millionaire Real Estate Agent and The ONE Thing. A great book to help anyone be more productive.
2. What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow by Frank Gallinelli
What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow removes the guesswork from investing in real estate by teaching you how to crunch the numbers like a pro, so you can confidently judge a property's value and ensure it provides long-term returns.
3. The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs by J. Scott
Know what you are getting into before you start making offers. The updated version is available beginning January 17, 2019. I just pre-ordered my copy.
4. The McGraw-Hill 36-Hour Course: Real Estate Investing, Second Edition by Jack Cummings
Full of the basic fundamentals of real estate investing. Jack Cummings wrote another book I really liked titled Real Estate Finance and Investment Manual. It is hard to find in print anymore.
5. The Book on Rental Property Investing: How to Create Wealth and Passive Income Through Intelligent Buy & Hold Real Estate Investing! by Brandon Turner
This book with the really long title I found this one on a site called BiggerPockets.com. The author Brandon Turner runs the site as well. There is a wealth of information and networking opportunities to be found there.
