According to the PACC#1 newsletter the Palm Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach, FL will begin construction of a lake in place of the former Pines Course before the end of the year. The Pines Course closed three years ago and the county club has been doing minimal maintenance since then. The entire area that was once the Pines course will be dug up and turned into a lake with fountains and a walking path around its perimeter. Privacy bushes may be planted between the walking path and the PACC# 1 property line. Some of the trees on the course will be moved to the Palms course on the opposite side of N Palm Aire Dr. This will be good news for those who have been own condos on the dormant Pines course that has since become an eyesore. The dirt removed to make way for the lake will be sold as landfill. All the lakes will be connected to the Cypress Creek canal to make for a consistant water level.

Now might be a good time to buy something in those building that will end up being lakefront condos. Here is a link to a photo of the planned lake.
