Around this time of year its not unusual to see predictions for whats ahead in the the new year.  I was considering putting together a bunch of my own predictions for the real estate market.  But right now I'm more interested in what the public has to think in that regard, so I'm asking for some input from the readers of this blog.  I also want to stimulate some conversation here, so far my blog has been pretty one sided.  I'll start things off with one, but I'm encouraging you folks to throw in your two cents.

Here goes. I think by the end of the second quarter we will begin to see inventories of properties come down noticeably off their highs.  I'm already seeing minor reductions of active listings in the neighborhoods I pay particularly close attention to.  This won't mean prices will start to recover immediately thereafter.  I don't think that will happen at all this year.  It will just mark the beginning of the end or the beginning of the beginning, however you care to look at it.
