I don't know how long its been since the Sun-Sentinel wrote a positve article about the real estate market, but it must be about two years. After years of pummeling the market on a weekly basis, I had to do a double take when I saw the front page. The premise of the article is there are some real deals to had these day and its a good time to be buying.  I'm a contrarian and I couldn't agree more. When everyone seems to be selling, thats the time to buy.

I would add to that article three reason why now is a good time to buy. 1)   Anything you are currently paying in rent will never be recovered. Its simply an expense 2) Your rent isn't tax deductible but mortgage interest is deductible. 3) Florida real estate has averaged 7% appreciation since records have been kept.  If you buy and hold long term, how can you go wrong?
