I asked him &amp;quot;what if I just take it out?&amp;quot;&amp;nbsp; I was told that would be fine and I wouldn&amp;#39;t have to pay for a permit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I always thought it was ugly anyway, and rather than give the city any money, I prefer to just get rid of it.&amp;nbsp; It turns out I am not being singled out. I live on the first floor and there were 4 or 5 red tags on&amp;nbsp;the doors of my&amp;nbsp;neighbors&amp;nbsp;of my floor.&amp;nbsp; Yesterday they started on the second floor where 7 enclosures were flagged. Apparently they will be on the third floor today while working there way up to the 10th floor and then move on the other buildings in Palm Aire Association 1.&amp;nbsp;After that there are 12 more assocaitions to go.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many of the enclosures I have seen are more substantial and in some cases the sliding doors have been removed to increase living area with the enclosure.&amp;nbsp; Some of my neighbors are going to have to spend big money to be in compliance. Clearly this is about money. City revenues are way down, building is non-existent and they need the money. I am&amp;nbsp;not saying that the city should overlook unpermitted work, but where were they&amp;nbsp;during the last couple of decades? Is now the right time,&amp;nbsp;in the middle of a deep recession, that they should be reaching into our back pocket?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It looks like with the sheer number of units&amp;nbsp;in Palm Aire the city has discovered a source of work and revenue that could keep them in business for quite a while.&amp;nbsp; If you have a patio&amp;nbsp;enclosure, watched out the inspectors are heading your way.
